The Really Big Show (“we”, “us”) is produced by NowMedia Group, NowMedia Group Inc., 1600 – 1631 Dickson Ave, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 0B5, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect on thereallybigshow.ca (the “Site”), why, and what choices you have. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act.
What we collect
- Information you give us: name, email, phone (only if a form asks for it), and your message when you use our contact, booking or media kit forms.
- Newsletter: your email address when you subscribe. Our newsletter is delivered through Beehiiv.
- Donations: your name, email, amount and payment details. Card details are handled by our payment processor, Stripe, and are not stored on our servers.
- Store orders: name, shipping address, email and order details. Orders are fulfilled by third-party vendors and paid through Stripe.
- Automatic information: IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed and referring page, collected through cookies and similar tools, including Google Analytics and embedded YouTube videos.
How we use it
- To send the newsletter and show updates you asked for.
- To process donations, orders and refunds, and send receipts.
- To answer your messages and booking requests.
- To keep the Site secure, prevent fraud, and understand which pages are useful.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
Only service providers who help us run the Site: newsletter delivery (Beehiiv), payment processing (Stripe), store fulfillment vendors, hosting, analytics (Google Analytics), and embedded video (YouTube/Google). They may use your information only to provide their service. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect safety or prevent fraud. These providers may store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep the Site working and to measure traffic. Embedded YouTube videos may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may stop working.
You can unsubscribe from any newsletter email using the link in the footer of the email. We comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Donation and supporter information
Donations are not charitable donations and do not receive tax receipts. We do not publish donor names without permission, and donating does not give anyone influence over our editorial decisions.
Retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it, and you can withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Email news@nowmediagroup.ca. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above.
